Exodus 31:1- 6 “And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, See, I have called by name Bez’a-leel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship. And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;”

I want us to look at some facts from those six verses. Just simple facts about what I am going to call an ordinary person -- Bez’a-leel. Who in the world is Bez’a-leel?

The secret to God’s blessing

 One has, only, to go to the Scripture to find the secret to the blessings of God.

We find in Gen. 22:18 that Abraham was blessed because he obeyed God’s voice. In Gen. 6:8, it tells us that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord because he was an obedient servant. Then in 7:1, Noah and his family were invited into the ark; “for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.”

Question: Dr. Wood, How do I get on the subject? I want to witness to my friends and family members but I just don’t what to say first. I have a real fear that I will say the wrong thing and make them mad.

Answer: This is a very normal reaction and everybody that I know who has developed into a good soul winner has had to overcome the same obstacle.

I believe that the following will be helpful:

1.) Make sure that you do not “jump” on the person right away. I mean by this sometimes when we are nervous we will simply look at them and say “you need to be saved!” or something like this. It is much better to be folksy. I use this word a lot to try to help all of us to remember to be very friendly and to be interested in the person before we begin to present the Gospel.

A Natural Process in Societal Breakdown

Clearly defining postmodernism is a difficult task, as the various definitions available seem to be as vague as the concept the word symbolizes. The term “postmodern” has been used to reference so many disciplines (art, music, architecture, philosophy, critical theory) that it has nearly ceased to be what it truly is, a new world view involving truth. This century brings many new philosophies with it, but most predominant is that citizens are becoming adept at denying the very existence of truth, which is postmodernism in a nutshell: truth doesn’t exist until a person wants it to; it is not discovered; it is created (Anderson, www.probe.org).

In April, 2006 the Lord led me and my wife, Pam, along with our two children and Son-In-Law to start New Life Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. For the five of us, this was indeed a step of faith but we knew it was a response to the call of God.

It was my belief that a church could be started and grow as long as it was built on the foundation of Jesus Christ in accordance to the Biblical mandate of the Great Commission found in Matthew 28: 19, 20. This Commission can be summed up in “four” words: GO, WIN, BAPTIZE, and TEACH. In the four weeks prior to our first service, we knocked on 5,000 doors placing and presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The “GOING” began and has continued to this day. We haven’t, and by God’s grace, we will not stop obeying the first part of our Lord’s Commission: GO.

Music is an important tool that we are to have in our soul-winner’s “toolbox” ! It’s just another tool to use to draw others to Christ. Now I want to talk briefly about two important issues of music, specifically Gospel music, that is vitally important to all of us.

The first aspect of music is this: Music is vitally important to God. The Bible has much to say about music. We see that music was used in various events in the Bible such as farewells(Gen.31:27), entertainment(Isaiah 5:12), weddings(Jeremiah 7:34), funerals(Matthew 9:18,23), sacred processions(1 Chron. 13:6-8), victory celebrations(Exodus 15:20,21), coronation services(2 Chron. 23:11,13) and dedication services(2 Chron. 5:11-13). Music is important. The area of music can be a major influence in how we feel.

In a day when marriage is lowly esteemed, it is important to be reminded of God’s high view of marriage. In Hebrews 13:4, God declares that marriage is to be held in honor among everyone. The word “honor” means to esteem someone or something in a high position or to hold it as very precious. The same Greek word is translated as precious in I Peter 1:18 where the passage states that we are “redeemed with the precious blood of Jesus.” In I Peter 1:1 and 1:4, God uses the same word to describe our faith and the promises that He has given to us. God wants us to understand that just as the blood of Jesus is precious, and our faith and His promises are precious, so is marriage. In Malachi chapter two, God warns the men of Judah that they have profaned the holy institution (marriage) which the Lord loves by dealing with their wives treacherously. The word “profane” means to make common. God is so angered that these men of Judah had taken what he had proclaimed very holy (marriage) and made it ordinary or just common that He tells them that He will not accept their worship or offerings. Neglecting to uphold God’s sacred view of marriage will actually drive the spirit of God from our churches and worship services.

Greetings from Rev. Thomas Maher, India! I am glad to write this article about David Wood Ministries – India as national director. God has been doing great things through DWM – India since 2004. You may be rejoicing in the Lord about this brief report. Dr. David Wood had come to India in the year 2004 for very first time. It was such a wonderful blessing for all churches in our area.
 

We had three days ISWDI conference in the city called Dindigal. It is 50 Kilometers away from Madurai city. We had about 3452 pastors and leaders participated in this conference. Dr. Wood and his team had trained them in the subject of soul winning. We feed and accommodated all of these pastors and provided their travel too. These pastors made decision to train 133741 soul winners during two years. Through their efforts, these soul winners would reach more than 3 Million people with the gospel and lead them in Christ.
